Top 5 Communication Apps on Android in Ecuador: Q3 2021

In the third quarter of 2021, the performance of the top 5 communication apps on the Android platform in Ecuador demonstrated diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the data provided by Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads ranging between 33K and 42K. The highest number of downloads was observed in mid-August at approximately 42K. Weekly active users showed stability, starting at around 6.3M at the beginning of July and ending with a slight increase to 6.4M by the end of September.

Messenger experienced consistent weekly downloads, fluctuating between 29K and 34K. Notably, weekly downloads peaked in the last week of September at about 34K. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, hovering around 1.2M throughout the quarter. Revenue saw a gradual increase, reaching up to $31 in the final week of September.

Telegram saw weekly downloads mostly in the range of 25K to 31K, with a slight peak at the end of September at around 31K. However, active users showed a downward trend from approximately 676K at the end of June to about 610K by the end of September.

Snapchat had weekly downloads that varied from 27K to 30K, with a peak in the last week of September at around 30K. Weekly active users exhibited an upward trend, increasing from about 1.7M in late June to nearly 1.8M by the end of September.

Sticker.ly - Sticker Maker showed a varied download pattern, starting at around 23K in late June and peaking at about 31K in the last week of September. The app’s active users also increased, from approximately 319K at the end of June to around 376K by the end of September.
